Super Healthy Simple Individual Apple Crumble
Apple crumble is one of my favourite afters. Apple Crumble is best with Granny Smith apples, however, I used the normal everyday apple in this recipe and the result was amazing.
Apples have different species which I love to experiment with. Apple is always welcome in my house, we stewed, boiled and often eat them raw.
In my recipe, I left the skin on the apple, if using cooking apples, you need to peel the skin off and steam the apples before following the steps below. I used normal eating apples and it shows how easily food can be experimented with.
Apple is nutritious and healthy. It has loads of nutritional benefits. Apples are rich in important antioxidants, flavonoids, and dietary fibre. Apples contain phytonutrients and antioxidants which may help reduce the risk of developing hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. To make my simple individual apple crumble here’s what you need. This is my version of easy peasy apple crumble.
Ingredients
Individual ramekin dishes
Apples
Flour
Dates
Oats
Sugar (Optional)
Butter
Cinnamon powder
What to do.
Preheat the oven to 180 C. Chopped your apples roughly and put to a side. In another bowl, pour in the oats, add butter and sprinkle of sugar. With your fingertips, rub in the oats and butter until it turns into a crumble or looks like bread crumble in clusters.
Chop your dates and add to your chopped apples. Mix together.
Divide the chopped apples into the mini oven dishes or ramekin. Top each dish with the oats crumbles until they are all covered. Press firmly.
Place the dishes with the apples on a tray. Cook until the top is golden. Enjoy with cream or topping of your choice. I particularly enjoy apples crumbles with vanilla ice cream. Yummy!
