Why sharing is good for you.

We were encouraged to share when little, but, as adults,  life struggles and the efforts required to earn a living can sometimes take away the morals of sharing. We sometimes get carried away by the actualization of our dreams. We measure our wealth and the reality of what we have acquired block the real essence of our existence. We know that when we share, we are giving a bit of our sweat, our struggles and a bit of our worth. We know that when we share, we are giving a bit of ourselves. We see no reason in giving. We become selfish in our quest.

It has been scientifically proven that sharing enhance good feel effect. In other words, when you share, your brain releases the hormone oxytocin, sometimes called the “feel good” or “cuddle” hormone, which relieves and decreases stress which is associated with many ailment.

Sharing promotes  a sense of trust that strengthen the bond between people. Sharing builds love and eliminates  grudges.

Sharing is reciprocal. When you give, you get back. Sharing promotes  social skills and cooperation.

Sharing enhances gratitude which has been found to be an integral part of happiness, health, and social bonds. Giving helps  people  show gratitude thereby improving health and well-being.

Sharing brings a sense of satisfaction judging from the gratitude of the recipient. Sharing is another way of expressing feelings, it reinforces appreciation and the acknowledgement of people near and far. Giving focuses on the relationship between giver and recipient.

Different ways to share or give.

Sharing gifts of food, money and other valuables  are particularly helpful to the less-privileged.

Giving up time to help a person, an organisation or the community at large.

Sharing what you know, teaching others  the skills you have acquired.

Feeding  animals such as birds, rodents and so on. 

Sharing words of advice.

Encouraging what is goods and discouraging  what is bad.

Part taking in good causes.

There are many ways to share, give and receive. Sharing does not have to be in monetary value. Giving has a wide scope. Explore and appreciate the beauty of living.
